Teacher shot dead in Sarlahi

A teacher was shot and killed in Sarlahi district. The victim has been identified as Rampukar Yadav.

According to the police, armed attackers on a motorcycle shot Yadav in front of his house around 8:30 PM and then fled the scene.

Yadav was seriously injured after being shot in the head. He was being taken to Janaki Academic Hospital in Ramgopalpur, Mahottari for treatment but died on the way.

The police have arrested one of the attackers, but his name has not been released. The suspect was caught after crashing the motorcycle while fleeing the scene.

DSP Saroj Rai, spokesperson for Sarlahi District Police, said the arrested person was also seriously injured in the accident and has been sent from Model Hospital in Lalbandi, Sarlahi to the Provincial Hospital in Janakpur for further treatment.

Some other people involved in the attack are still at large, and the police are searching for them.
