A man suspected of murdering Ruby Shah, whose body was found in a closed suitcase, has been discovered with severe burns.

The suspect, named Laxman Paswan, was found badly burned on a path between Bishunpurwa and Manpur, near a garden in Madhav Narayan Municipality-6, Rautahat.

Police have taken him to a hospital and are continuing their investigation into the incident.

Ruby Shah’s body was found packed in a suitcase last Saturday after she left her home, saying she was going to the Gaur market.

According to Netramani Giri, the Superintendent of Police for Rautahat District, Paswan is the main suspect in the murder and was found after he had set himself on fire.

The police received a report around 6:30 a.m. today that someone was attempting to self-immolate in front of a canal in Madhav Narayan Municipality-6. When they arrived, they found Paswan with severe burns.

Police believe he poured petrol on himself and lit it. He was taken to a hospital in Garuda for treatment.
