Cricketer Amit Shrestha has announced his retirement from international cricket. He shared the news through social media. However, he will continue to play domestic cricket for his team, Nepal Police Club.
On Wednesday, Amit posted on social media, saying it was a great feeling to represent Nepal wearing the U-19 team jersey and that it had been his dream.
He said he still loves cricket and will continue playing in domestic tournaments. Amit played for Nepal’s U-19 national team and participated in the ACC U-19 Elite Cup and the ACC U-19 Asia Cup in 2013.
Despite playing cricket for nearly 15 years, he never got a chance to play for the senior national team. In 2012, he scored centuries in two back-to-back domestic cricket matches.
Amit, who is 31 years old and from Kalaiya, Bara, has also played in franchise leagues like the Everest Premier League, Dhangadhi Premier League, and Pokhara Premier League.
Last year, he played for Sudurpaschim Royals in the Nepal Premier League (NPL).
