Dead Body of Young Man Found on Road in Pokhara

A young man’s body was found near the Institute of Forestry in Ward No. 15 of Pokhara Metropolitan City.

Locals saw the body lying in the middle of the road with blood around it and informed the police. The body had injuries on the face and body, and blood was visible at the scene.

District Police Office Kaski spokesperson DSP Hari Bahadur Basnet said the injuries suggest the man was murdered. A hammer was also found near the body, and it appears the man was hit with it.

“The body was lying face-up in the middle of the road. Looking at the injuries and the hammer found nearby, it seems he was killed with a hammer,” said DSP Basnet. “No ID or documents were found to identify the man. We have started an investigation using trained dogs, but the case is still mysterious.”

Police said the investigation is difficult because no documents were found, no locals recognized the victim, and no one saw anything suspicious.

The police received the report about the body at 5 a.m. Locals said they hadn’t seen anything unusual until around 1:30 or 2:00 a.m., so police believe the incident happened between 4:00 and 4:30 a.m.

Locals suspect the murder happened during the night. Police said they will continue their investigation after the post-mortem report.
