Four Traffic Police Transferred After Beating Incident at Sundhara Overhead Bridge

Four traffic police officers have been transferred after being involved in a case where they were accused of beating a civilian under the overhead bridge at Sundhara.

The Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office said that the four officers were removed from their traffic duties and sent to Armed Police Battalion No. 2 in Samakhusi.

An official confirmed that among those transferred is Traffic Sub-Inspector Ishwar Maharjan.

The incident took place on Mangsir 23, 2081 (December 9, 2024), but it only became public on Baisakh 11 (April 24, 2025), nearly six months later.

After the incident became public, the Kathmandu Valley Police Office in Ranipokhari removed the officers from duty and began an investigation.
