The Hayu family has left Pokhara, saying they are returning to their original home in Sindhuli.

According to Kaski District Police spokesperson DSP Hari Basnet, the family was handed over to Rabin Shrestha, the ward chairperson of Golanjor Rural Municipality-6 in Sindhuli.

Pokhara Metropolitan City Mayor Dhanraj Acharya formally bid farewell to the 19-member family, including Urmila Hayu, with the presence of police.

The family had been living in the house of Govinda Prasad Bhandari in Gagangauda, Pokhara-3.

Earlier, the family had left their home in Golanjor-6, saying they feared harm and felt unsafe staying there. Without informing anyone, they had left behind goats and buffaloes and cut off all contact. They were later found in Pokhara.

Now, Ward Chairperson Shrestha has said he will arrange for them to stay in another house instead of their previous home in Sindhuli.
