Ward chairman of Birendranagar-5 Lok Bahadur Shahi passes away
Lok Bahadur Shahi, the ward chairman of Birendranagar Municipality-5 in Surkhet, has passed away.
He died on Tuesday while returning to Surkhet in an ambulance after receiving treatment at Bir Hospital in Kathmandu. Acting chairman Basu Acharya confirmed that Shahi passed away when the ambulance reached Harre, in Bheriganga Municipality.
Shahi had been suffering from lung cancer and pneumonia for the past year.
He was elected as ward chairman from the CPN-UML party during the 2022 local elections.
