Man Dies After Being Swept Away by Chaulani River in Darchula
A 60-year-old man has died after being swept away by the Chaulani (Chameliya) River, which flows along the border of Darchula and Baitadi districts.
According to police, the incident took place on Saturday morning in Chelabagar, Shailyashikhar Municipality-2. The man, identified as Krishna Bahadur Pal, was bathing in the river when he was carried away by the current.
District Police Office Darchula said Pal’s body was found about 200 meters downstream from where he was swept away. Police official Chhatra Bahadur Rawat confirmed the recovery.
His body is being taken to Gokuleshwor Hospital for post-mortem. Further investigation into the incident is underway.
