The Department of National Identity Card and Civil Registration has announced that some services related to the national identity card are currently partially disrupted.
According to department spokesperson Shivraj Sedhai, the disruption is due to ongoing maintenance and capacity expansion of the National Identity Management Information System. Until this work is complete, several designated services will remain affected.

The department published a public notice for concerned individuals and stakeholders, stating that services will resume once maintenance is complete. The disruption has been in effect since Sunday.
However, tasks related to data collection and card distribution can still be carried out offline. All national ID service units have been instructed to continue these tasks manually for now.
For those who register offline, the national ID number will be sent via SMS once the online system is restored, Sedhai added.
