The government is planning to introduce a law to regulate OTT (Over-The-Top) media services.

On Thursday, Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel announced during the budget presentation for the fiscal year 2082/83 that a new law will be made to regulate OTT platforms.

The budget states that legal measures will be taken to manage existing OTT services in telecommunications and broadcasting.

Minister Paudel also said that advertisements will be made more standard, respectful, and well-regulated.
