

Nepal lost 4-0 to Bangladesh in the final of the SAFF U-20 Women’s Championship 2024, held at the Bashundhara Kings Arena in Dhaka on Monday.
Bangladesh dominated the match from the beginning, scoring one goal in the first half and adding three more in the second half. All four goals were scored by forward Sagorika, who was the star of the game. She opened the scoring in the 8th minute and continued her brilliant form throughout the match.
Nepal came into the final needing a win to secure the title, while Bangladesh only needed a draw. However, the home team left no room for doubt, securing the championship with an unbeaten record.
Bangladesh had earlier defeated Nepal 3-2 in the group stage as well. They finished the tournament with 15 points from five matches, winning all of them. Nepal, who had won all their other matches, ended with 12 points from five matches and had to settle for second place.
This final loss ended Nepal’s strong run in the tournament, while Bangladesh lifted the trophy on home soil with a dominant performance.
