

Nepal will play its third match of the SAFF U-17 Women’s Championship today against Bangladesh. The game will kick off at 5:45 PM Nepali time at Changlimithang Stadium in Thimphu.
Both Nepal and Bangladesh have played two matches each so far, winning one and losing one. Nepal suffered a heavy 7-0 defeat against India in the opening match but bounced back to beat hosts Bhutan 2-1 in the second game.
Bangladesh, on the other hand, defeated Bhutan 3-1 in their first match but lost 2-0 to India in the second. Bangladesh has been performing strongly in women’s football across different age categories in recent years.
The tournament, which runs until August 31, features four teams Nepal, India, Bangladesh, and Bhutan. It is being played in a double round-robin format, meaning each team plays the others twice. The team with the highest points at the end will be crowned champions.
At the moment, India leads the table with 6 points from 2 matches. Both Nepal and Bangladesh have 3 points, but Bangladesh sits second on goal difference, while Nepal is in third place. Bhutan remains without a win.
In today’s other fixture, India will face Bhutan.
