Police shoot, arrest Indian man with heroin in Siraha

Police in Siraha have arrested an Indian national with heroin after shooting him while trying to stop him.

The arrested person is 38-year-old Shyamsundar Paswan from Birpur-9, Madhubani, India. Police recovered about 50 grams of brown heroin from him.

According to DSP and police spokesperson Birendra Kumar Paswan of the Siraha District Police Office, Shyamsundar entered Nepal on a motorcycle with an Indian number plate (BR 32 M 7338) around 3:45 PM on Saturday. Police tried to stop him at Kushundi, Nawarajpur-4, but he attempted to flee.

Police then fired a shot and took him under control.

Further investigation is underway.
