Nepal’s second practice match against Scotland A in preparation for the ICC Cricket World Cup League 2 ended without a result due to rain.
The match was reduced to 45 overs because of earlier rain. During the second innings, it started raining again, and the game had to be stopped.
Scotland A was chasing a target of 254 runs set by Nepal. They had scored 64 runs for the loss of 3 wickets in 13 overs when the rain returned. Since 20 overs were not completed, the Duckworth-Lewis (D/L) method could not be used, and the match was declared with no result.
Earlier, Nepal won the toss and chose to bat first. They scored 253 runs for 9 wickets in 45 overs. Gulshan Jha scored 64 runs, captain Rohit Paudel made 61, and Bhim Sharki added 57. Opener Kushal Bhurtel contributed 31 runs.
For Scotland A, Gavin Main, James Dickinson, and Oli Davidson took 2 wickets each. Lewis O’Donnell, Mackenzie Jones, and Zainullah Ihsan took 1 wicket each.
Nepal had lost the first practice match by 102 runs. While the team remained unbeaten during their training matches in the UK, they lost their first practice match after arriving in Scotland.
Nepal will now play two matches each against Scotland and the Netherlands in the League 2 series, starting on Monday.
