RCB Beat CSK in a Thrilling Match to Go Top of IPL Table

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) climbed to the top of the IPL points table after a thrilling 2-run win over Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on Saturday.

This was RCB’s 8th win of the season. With 16 points from 11 matches, they now sit at the top of the table.

Chennai, already out of the playoff race, suffered their 9th loss of the season. They remain at the bottom of the table with just 4 points from 11 matches. This was their fourth straight defeat. Bengaluru also beat Chennai in both matches this season.

In the match played at Chinnaswamy Stadium, Chennai needed 214 runs to win. But they could only score 211 for 5 in 20 overs.

Ravindra Jadeja stayed not out with 77 runs off 45 balls, while Ayush Mhatre scored 94 runs from 48 balls. Lungi Ngidi took 3 wickets for Bengaluru.

Earlier, Romario Shepherd smashed the fastest fifty of the season for RCB — reaching the milestone in just 14 balls. He hit 6 sixes and 4 fours. Virat Kohli added 62 runs and Jacob Bethell scored 55. Matheesha Pathirana took 3 wickets for CSK.
