President and former Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has emphasized that informed and responsible use of digital platforms is crucial for shaping a digital future.

Speaking at the inauguration of the programme ‘Use, Impact and Effects of Digital Platforms’ organized by the NC Information, Communications and Publicity Department at the party’s central office in Sanepa, Deuba said everyone can contribute to society and the nation through responsible digital use.

“Digital platforms have made services faster and more transparent. We can all contribute to individual, societal, and national development by using them positively,” he said.

Deuba noted that millions of people connect daily to digital platforms via mobile phones, internet, computers, and social networks. These platforms are increasingly being used in sectors such as education, health, banking, and public services, all of which impact daily life.

He praised the growing use of information technology in delivering public services quickly and transparently. Digital initiatives like mobile banking, online forms, digital health services, and e-education have gradually transformed people’s lives.

“The Telecommunications Policy, Act, and Regulations introduced under the NC-led government have expanded access to technology for all Nepali citizens, including those in remote areas. Still, much remains to be done in the technology sector,” he added.

Deuba highlighted NC’s commitment to societal transformation through innovation and technology. “The party supports public policies that use digital platforms to boost economic activities, ensure good governance, and promote innovation across sectors, including the private sector,” he said.

He also announced citizen awareness campaigns to prevent misuse of technology, calling events like this important for promoting responsible and reliable digital use.

NC Assistant General Secretary Mahalaxmi Upadhyay Dina stressed that digital tools have become indispensable in modern life and that there is much to learn about using them effectively.

NC central information, communications, and publicity department chief Miin Bahadur Biswokarma highlighted the importance of using digital media to communicate the party’s activities and messages to society.
