Nepali leg-spinner Sandeep Lamichhane has decided not to continue under the central contract of the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN).
He announced his decision on social media, saying, “After much thought, I’ve decided not to renew my central contract with CAN this time. This is not a step away from cricket or my country. It’s a step toward personal and professional growth.”
Sandeep was among 33 male and 19 female players listed in CAN’s contract system. He held an ‘A’ grade contract, which included a monthly salary of NPR 100,000.
Despite stepping away from the contract, Sandeep made it clear he will still play for the national team. “I will continue playing for Nepal with the same energy and dedication. Wearing the Nepali jersey is always an honor and a responsibility I carry with pride,” he added.
So, while he’s off the contract list, don’t expect him to disappear from the field anytime soon.
