At least 8 people have died in a school shooting in Graz, a city in Austria, according to The New York Times.
Austrian public broadcaster ORF, quoting the Interior Ministry, also said that several people were killed in the incident.
According to Graz Mayor Elke Kahr, who spoke to the Austria Press Agency, one of the dead is the gunman. Among the victims are some students and at least one adult.
The gunman reportedly killed himself in a school bathroom after the attack on Tuesday.
The shooting happened around 10 a.m. on Tuesday at a high school located in the northern part of Graz city.
Austrian police confirmed that the shooting took place at a federal high school near a train station in Graz.
Graz is Austria’s second-largest city. About ten years ago, another violent incident occurred there when a man drove into a crowd, killing three people and injuring around 30 others. He later attacked pedestrians with a knife.
Police said that attacker had a history of domestic violence, and his wife had left him shortly before the incident.
