After being appointed Prime Minister, Sushila Karki is set to form a small cabinet on Friday.
Although the ministries have not been finalized, the names of the new ministers are confirmed. According to sources close to Karki, former executive director of the Nepal Electricity Authority Kulman Ghising, Gen Z representative Sudan Gurung, and lawyer Omprakash Aryal will take the oath as ministers.
It is not yet clear which ministries they will lead. Gurung was recommended by the Gen Z movement. His permanent address is registered in Gorkha, but he is said to be running a business in Dharan.
Ghising is known for ending power cuts (load-shedding) in Nepal during his time at the Electricity Authority. He was removed from his position when KP Sharma Oli was Prime Minister.
Aryal, on the other hand, is a lawyer who previously worked as a legal adviser to Kathmandu Mayor Balen Shah. He recently resigned from that role and has been practicing law independently.
