Three young men have been arrested for allegedly stealing a Bodhichitta garland worth around Rs 8 lakh from a house in Banepa.
Those arrested are 19-year-old Bibek Lama from ward 4, 20-year-old Milan Moktan from ward 2, and 19-year-old Labad Tamang from ward 3 of Mahabharat Rural Municipality, Kavre.
According to DSP Rameshwar Twati of Area Police Office, Banepa, the theft took place on the night of Asar 21 at the house of Bhawani Pandey in Resham Marg, Banepa-10. The mala was kept inside her compound.
A case has been filed against the three under theft and robbery charges. The Kavrepalanchok District Court has extended their custody by four days for further investigation.
