The monsoon is currently affecting all parts of Nepal, according to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology. The monsoon low-pressure line is near its average position.

At the moment, hilly areas of the country are seeing partly to generally cloudy skies, while other regions are partly cloudy. Light to moderate rain is happening in some places of Koshi, Bagmati, and Karnali provinces.

This afternoon, most parts of the country will remain partly to generally cloudy. There is a chance of light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning in some hilly areas of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Sudurpashchim provinces, and in a few other places across the country. Some high-hill and Himalayan areas may also get light to moderate rain or snowfall.

Tonight, the weather will remain similar—partly to generally cloudy across Nepal. Many areas in Koshi province and a few places in Madhesh, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces could experience light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning. Heavy rain is also possible in one or two places of Koshi and Gandaki provinces. There is also a chance of light to moderate rain or snowfall in high-hill and Himalayan areas.

Due to the expected rainfall, there is a risk of landslides, floods, and increased water levels in rivers and streams. Urban and Terai regions may face waterlogging. Daily life, agriculture, health, tourism, construction activities near rivers, roads, and air travel could be affected. Gusty winds may also cause some disruptions.

The Department has advised the public and all concerned authorities to stay alert and take necessary precautions.
