Two Dead after fall from Cliff in Dolpa

Two people died after falling off a cliff in Dolpa district.

The accident happened on the road between Tipla and Tatopani in Thuli Bheri Municipality–4. The victims were 33-year-old Parbati Gharti from Sunachhari Rural Municipality–3 in Rolpa and 18-year-old Kiran Bhandari from Aathbiskot Municipality–3 in Rukum West.

Police in Dolpa said they were alerted to the incident on Thursday morning. DSP Harikrishna KC and his team reached the site, recovered the bodies, and took them to the district hospital.

Both Parbati and Kiran worked as laborers on a local water supply project linking Tipla and Tatopani. They had stored their belongings in a nearby shelter. While carrying these items back, Parbati slipped and fell off the cliff. Kiran tried to save her, but also lost his footing and fell. They both fell about four meters and suffered multiple injuries.

It took rescuers nearly two hours to recover their bodies.
