A double-cabin Scorpio jeep traveling from Ramechhap to Hetauda via Khurkot met with an accident, killing one person and injuring another.
The victim has been identified as 41-year-old Radha Karki Chauhan of Manthali-11, who was a health worker. She died on the spot, according to District Police Office Chief Bhola Bhatt.
Her husband, 46-year-old Uttam Chauhan, was injured and taken to the community hospital in Ramechhap for first aid before being referred to Kathmandu for further treatment. Police said the couple was traveling to Hetauda to visit their son.
The jeep, with number plate BSC 9463, crashed on Sunday morning at Kunauri, Manthali-6, after slipping off the road due to a landslide.
Meanwhile, on Saturday, a tractor accident in Khadadevi-4 along the Mid-Hill Highway in Ramechhap killed one person and injured another. The deceased was 25-year-old Dinesh Majhi, while 15-year-old Bibek Majhi was injured. The tractor’s number plate was Na 6 Ta 9591.
