Real Madrid has confirmed that forward Vinicius Junior has injured his left knee.
He got hurt during Sunday’s El Clasico match against Barcelona, where Real Madrid lost 4–3. Vinicius was substituted towards the end of the match, which took place at the Montjuïc Stadium.
Another player, Lucas Vázquez, was also injured in the same game. However, the club has not said when either of them will return.
Real Madrid has only three La Liga matches left this season — against Mallorca on Wednesday, Sevilla on Sunday, and Real Sociedad on May 25.
After that, the club will also take part in the FIFA Club World Cup in the United States next month.
