While people were marking the 10-year remembrance of the Gorkha earthquake centered in Barpak, a new quake struck Sindhupalchok.
On Friday at 11:53 AM, the National Seismological Centre recorded a magnitude 4.1 earthquake with its epicenter in Phulpingkot, Sindhupalchok.
Back on April 25, 2015 (Baisakh 12, 2072 BS), the Gorkha quake—7.8 on the Richter scale—killed around 9,000 people and hit Sindhupalchok hardest of all.
This morning’s tremor was felt in Sindhupalchok and nearby districts, but no damage has been reported.
