Biratnagar Kings have revealed their retention list for the second season of the Nepal Premier League (NPL).
The franchise had already confirmed that star spinner Sandeep Lamichhane would continue as their marquee player. Along with him, the team has retained six players in total: Lokesh Bam, Pratish GC, Basir Ahmad, Naren Bhatt, and Subash Bhandari.
Earlier on Saturday morning, Biratnagar had announced on social media that Sandeep would remain the marquee player for the second season as well. He had also captained the team in the first season.
However, the team’s performance in the previous season was disappointing — winning just 2 out of 7 matches and finishing 7th out of 8 teams.
According to NPL rules, teams can retain one marquee player and up to six other players. With Biratnagar’s announcement, all 8 franchises have now released their retention lists.
A mini auction for the second season is scheduled to take place in August.
