Nepal placed in Group 2 for T20 World Cup Asia Qualifier

Nepal has been placed in Group 2 for the upcoming ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Asia and East Asia-Pacific combined qualifier, which will be held in Oman this October.

In the group stage, Nepal will face Kuwait and Japan. A total of 9 teams are taking part in the tournament, divided into 3 groups.

Group 1 includes UAE, Malaysia, and Qatar, while Group 3 has host nation Oman, Papua New Guinea, and Samoa.

The top 2 teams from each group will advance to the Super Six stage. After that, the top 3 teams from the Super Six will qualify for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, which will be held in India and Sri Lanka.

The tournament will run from October 8 to 17. Among the participating teams, Nepal, Oman, UAE, and Papua New Guinea have previously played in the T20 World Cup.
