Nepal has officially launched the ‘FIFA Football for Schools’ program to support the overall development of children through football at the school level.
The program was inaugurated by Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli during a ceremony held on Thursday at Dasharath Stadium.
PM Oli marked the beginning of the event by releasing balloons, alongside ANFA President Pankaj Bikram Nembang and other officials. Sports Minister Tej Lal Chaudhary and Finance Minister Bishnu Poudel also attended the event.
The global initiative, run by FIFA in partnership with UNESCO, aims to promote education, personal growth, and empowerment of children through football.

In Nepal, the program is being run in coordination with the All Nepal Football Association (ANFA), and in partnership with the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, and the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
According to ANFA, the program will help school children grow physically, mentally, socially, and morally.
It includes the distribution of football materials to schools, training for coaches and teachers, and the use of football as a teaching tool to develop life skills like discipline, self-confidence, teamwork, leadership, gender equality, and social inclusion.
