The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) has made a profit of around Rs 24.6 million from the first season of the Nepal Premier League (NPL).
According to a press release issued after Thursday’s board meeting, CAN stated that the total income from NPL was Rs 276.9 million, while expenses reached Rs 201.5 million. This resulted in a net difference of Rs 75.3 million.
Out of this, 50% (Rs 43.7 million) was distributed among the eight franchise teams. From the remaining Rs 31.6 million, Rs 7 million was given to provincial cricket associations. The final profit retained by CAN stands at Rs 24.65 million.
The governing council had submitted the income and expenditure report of the NPL’s first season, which was studied and approved by CAN’s central working committee.
CAN said the report will help build a stronger foundation for better management in future seasons.
Although the board meeting had a dozen topics on the agenda, CAN only issued a press statement about the NPL by the end of the day.
