A clash broke out again at Kailali District Prison, leaving one person dead and 47 others injured.
According to DSP Rajkumar Singh, spokesperson for the Kailali District Police Office, the deceased has been identified as Bharat Chaudhary, 40, from Dhangadhi-4. He was in prison on drug-related charges.
The incident happened around 11 pm on Friday. Chaudhary, who was seriously injured in the fight, was taken to Seti Provincial Hospital, where he died during treatment. His body has been kept in the hospital’s morgue.
Among the injured, three are in critical condition and are being treated at the same hospital.
A similar clash had also occurred in the prison on Thursday, injuring five people.
