A woman’s body was found inside a suitcase in Gaur, Rautahat. The suitcase was discovered on the roadside near Mudwalwa Gate, ward no. 9 of Gaur Municipality.
On Saturday night, police found the suitcase tied with a rope and left unattended. When a team led by DSP Rajan Karki from the District Police Office opened it on Sunday morning, they found the body of a woman believed to be around 30 years old.
The body was stuffed inside the suitcase, police said. The woman’s identity has not been confirmed yet. After preparing the official report, police sent the body to the Provincial Hospital in Gaur.
To investigate the case further, police are checking CCTV footage from a nearby school. DSP Karki said the investigation is ongoing.
This is the third body found in Rautahat this week. Earlier, Upendra Bhagat from Saptari was found dead inside Nepal Lodge, and Sahabudin Mia of Gaur-5 was killed in a knife attack. Now, the unidentified woman’s body has been found in a suitcase.
