A jeep accident took place in Simkot, the district headquarters of Humla, on Wednesday around 1 p.m. The jeep crashed at Kathechuli in Simkot.
Police said the jeep, with registration number Lu Pra-01-001 Ja 0282, suffered brake failure and crashed into the house of Padam Rawat in Simkot-5. The vehicle was on its way from Simkot to the lower village when the accident happened.
The driver, Tilak Aidi from Kharpunath-1, was injured in the crash. He received minor injuries on his eye and upper lip and is being treated at the district hospital. There were no other passengers in the jeep at the time.
The accident caused damage to Rawat’s house. One room on the upper floor was completely destroyed, with a wall and the main door collapsing, according to Inspector Jang Bahadur Singh.
