The all-new BYD ATTO 1 has officially debuted in Nepal, marking its entry as the most affordable electric hatchback from BYD in the country. The launch took place during the NAIMA Nepal Mobility Expo 2025 at Bhrikutimandap, Kathmandu, with official distributor Cimex Inc. introducing the car in two variants targeting Nepal’s growing urban EV market.
The ATTO 1, known globally as the BYD Seagull, is designed specifically for city driving and compact urban mobility. It is built on BYD’s advanced e-Platform 3.0 and features the brand’s cutting-edge Blade battery with Cell-to-Body (CTB) integration. Its starting price of Rs. 28.95 lakhs for the Dynamic variant makes it the lowest-priced BYD EV available in Nepal.
The Dynamic variant features a 30.08 kWh Blade LFP battery with a WLTP range of 230 km. The higher-end Premium model is equipped with a 38.88 kWh battery and offers a WLTP range of 300 km. The Premium variant is priced at Rs. 32.99 lakhs. Both models are now open for booking through Cimex Inc.
Targeted at eco-conscious drivers in cities like Kathmandu, Pokhara, and Lalitpur, the ATTO 1 offers modern styling, tech-heavy features, and strong safety credentials. It is powered by a 45 kW permanent magnet motor that delivers 75 hp and 135 Nm of torque, with a top speed of 130 km/h. The front-wheel-drive setup and low center of gravity contribute to nimble urban handling.
In terms of design, the ATTO 1 brings BYD’s “Ocean Aesthetics” theme to life with aerodynamic lines, sharp LED headlights, and sculpted body panels. The car measures 3780 mm in length, making it ideal for navigating Nepal’s narrow roads and tight parking spaces.
Inside, it sports a 10.1-inch rotating touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support. It also includes a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, voice command integration, over-the-air updates, and a modern minimalist dashboard layout. The cabin is designed for five occupants, with thoughtful ergonomics and 345 liters of boot space.
Safety remains a highlight, as the BYD ATTO 1 comes with six airbags, ABS with EBD, hill-start assist, and rear parking sensors. It also supports smart features like a digital key (via NFC or phone), vehicle-to-load (V2L) functionality, Bluetooth connectivity, and electronic parking brake with auto hold.
With its official launch at the NAIMA Expo, the BYD ATTO 1 is now available for booking in Nepal through Cimex Inc. It directly competes with entry-level EVs like the Tata Tiago EV and Wuling Bingo, offering a blend of affordability, technology, and practicality for daily use.
The arrival of the ATTO 1 is expected to push the adoption of electric vehicles further in Nepal’s urban centers, especially for those seeking a balance of price, performance, and sustainable driving.
