FIFA Club World Cup Knockout Fixtures Confirmed After Group Stage Ends
The group stage of the FIFA Club World Cup in the USA has officially ended, and the full lineup for the Round of 16 (pre-quarterfinals) is now confirmed.
On Friday morning (Nepal time), the final two group matches were played. Spanish giants Real Madrid and Saudi club Al Hilal both won their games.
In Group H, Real Madrid beat Salzburg 3-0 to top the group and reach the last 16. Vinícius Júnior scored in the 40th minute, followed by a goal from Federico Valverde in added time of the first half. In the 84th minute, Gonzalo García added a third goal to seal the win.
In the other Group H match, Al Hilal defeated Pachuca 2-0, with goals from Salem Al-Dawsari and Marcos Leonardo.
After these results:
- Real Madrid finished top of Group H with 7 points.
- Al Hilal came second with 5 points.
- Salzburg collected 4 points.
- Pachuca lost all three matches.
