Heavy rainfall hits Biratchowk, Biratnagar, Itahari and eastern Nepal

Heavy rain is currently affecting Biratchowk, Biratnagar, Itahari, and other eastern parts of Nepal. Local reports say the downpour has been continuous since early morning, causing waterlogging in several low-lying areas.

The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has warned of possible flooding in Tarai regions and landslides in nearby hilly areas if the rain continues. Residents are advised to remain cautious and avoid crossing flooded roads or rivers.

Transportation in some places has already been disrupted due to water-covered streets, and authorities are monitoring the situation closely.
