Monty Desai appointed head coach of Kathmandu Gorkhas for Nepal Premier League
Former Nepal national cricket team coach Monty Desai has been appointed as the head coach of Kathmandu Gorkhas for the upcoming season of the Nepal Premier League (NPL).
The team announced his appointment through its official social media channels.
After being appointed, Desai said that some journeys never end, adding that Nepal and Nepali cricket will always have a special place in his heart.
Under Desai’s coaching, Nepal played in the 2023 Asia Cup and the 2024 ICC T20 World Cup.
Kathmandu Gorkhas have also retained key players for the new season, including Karan KC, Bhim Sarki, Shahab Alam, Dipesh Kandel, Pratik Shrestha, and Rashid Khan.
A mini auction for the second edition of the NPL is scheduled to take place in August.
