Putin heads to Alaska for summit with Trump

A delegation led by Russian President Vladimir Putin has left for the United States for a summit with US President Donald Trump.

Flight tracking platform Flightradar24 showed that Putin’s team, traveling from Russia, has already entered US airspace on its way to Alaska for the talks.

The meeting between the two powerful leaders will take place on Friday in Anchorage, the largest city in the US state of Alaska. It is expected to focus mainly on the war in Ukraine.

The Kremlin has said there will be no joint statement after the talks. Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said there is no plan to release any official document after the summit.

According to him, after the meeting with Trump, Putin will share the main points of understanding and agreement during a joint press conference.
