Nepal to Begin Tri-Nation ODI Series Against Scotland on Monday

A tri-nation One Day International (ODI) cricket series under the ICC Cricket World Cup League 2 is starting in Scotland from Monday. The series includes Scotland, Nepal, and the Netherlands.

Nepal will play against Scotland in the first match of the series on Monday. The match will be held in Dundee and will start at 3:45 PM Nepali time.

Nepal has already played against Scotland in this League 2 cycle. In October last year, during a series in the USA, Nepal won one match against Scotland while another was washed out due to rain.

So far, Nepal and Scotland have faced each other 8 times in ODIs. Nepal has won 4 matches, Scotland has won 3, and 1 match had no result. In the last four encounters, Nepal is unbeaten with 3 wins and 1 no-result.

Before that, in a 2023 series held in Kirtipur, Nepal won both matches against Scotland. However, this time the series is being played in Scotland, which could present some challenges for Nepal.

In the points table, Nepal is currently at the bottom with 6 points from 12 matches. This away series is important for Nepal to improve its standings.

Before arriving in Scotland, Nepal played practice matches with different county clubs in the UK and remained unbeaten. They also played warm-up games against Scotland A.

Nepal lost one match against Scotland A, and in the next game, they scored 253 runs in 45 overs while batting first, but the second innings was cancelled due to rain.

If Nepal can continue its calm and steady batting like in the practice games, they have a good chance of winning key matches in this series.
