Two Armed Police Divers Missing in Saptakoshi River Drill
Two Armed Police Force divers went missing during a disaster rescue drill in the Saptakoshi River. The missing personnel have been identified as Suraj Saud and Hardev Rajbanshi.
According to the District Police Office, Saptari, the incident occurred around 4 p.m. on Thursday.
The Armed Police Force from the Madhesh Province Office was conducting a flood and landslide rescue drill in the river. During the exercise, the two divers were swept away near gates 54 and 55 on the northern side of the Koshi Barrage in Hanumannagar Kankalini Municipality–1, Saptari.
Search and rescue teams from Sunsari and Saptari, including personnel from the Armed Police and Nepal Police, have been deployed to find the missing divers.
