Several parts of the country are expected to receive rainfall today, with the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology warning of heavy downpour in eastern hilly areas. Kathmandu Valley is also likely to see scattered rain during the afternoon and evening.
According to the latest weather bulletin, provinces including Koshi, Madhesh, and Bagmati will remain mostly cloudy throughout the day. The eastern hills—especially districts like Ilam, Dhankuta, and Panchthar—could witness intense rainfall that may trigger localized flooding or landslides.
In the Kathmandu Valley, the skies remained partly cloudy in the morning, but light to moderate showers are likely later in the day. Surrounding hill districts like Sindhupalchok, Ramechhap, and Kavre may receive more significant rainfall.
Meanwhile, weather in the western regions including Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpashchim is expected to remain fair to partly cloudy. A few areas, especially in Karnali and Sudurpashchim provinces, might see light rainfall during the afternoon.
The department has urged residents in vulnerable areas to stay alert as monsoon activity remains active. Those living near rivers or in landslide-prone zones have been asked to take precautions.
