Four Al Jazeera journalists were killed in an Israeli airstrike in Gaza, near Al-Shifa Hospital.
According to Al Jazeera, reporter Anas al-Sharif, reporter Mohammed Qreiqeh, cameraman Ibrahim Zaher, and Mohammed Noufal were under a tent set up for journalists at the hospital’s main gate when the strike happened.
About two weeks ago, Al Jazeera had accused the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) of targeting al-Sharif and his team. Shortly after the attack, the IDF confirmed striking al-Sharif, claiming he was working as the head of a Hamas militant cell. The IDF did not comment on the deaths of the other journalists.
Al Jazeera’s managing editor, Mohammed Moawad, told the BBC that al-Sharif was “the only voice reporting on the atrocities in Gaza.”
