Six people from three different households in Salyan became ill after eating wild poisonous mushrooms.
The patients include 29-year-old Devi Bohara, her 77-year-old mother Harkali Rangmagar, 56-year-old Pabi Bohara, her 15-year-old daughter Pabitra Bohara, her 21-year-old son Lilaram Bohara, and Pabitra Basnet from Sharda Municipality–4, Sailakamad.
All the patients are receiving treatment at Salyan District Hospital. They had eaten mushrooms collected from the forest on Wednesday afternoon. After eating, they experienced vomiting, diarrhea, fever, and stomach pain.
Buddhinath Shah, MDGP doctor and acting chief at Salyan Health Office, said all patients are now improving. He also mentioned that people in Salyan often get sick after eating wild mushrooms.
Health officials have warned residents not to eat wild mushrooms, as most of them are poisonous and can even be life-threatening.
