The District Administration Office of Kavrepalanchok has extended the curfew and restrictions in the district.

Under the order, no more than five people are allowed to gather anywhere in the district. Movement, meetings, protests, rallies, and any type of public gathering are prohibited until 5 PM.

According to a statement by Chief District Officer Umesh Kumar Dhakal, the curfew and restrictions have now been extended until 6 AM the following day.

The statement said the decision was made because recent protests and rallies across the country have disrupted public peace and order and could lead to violent or destructive incidents. The curfew and restrictions are implemented under the Local Administration Act, 2028, and the decision of the District Security Committee.

Essential services such as ambulances, fire trucks, hearses, vehicles carrying medicine, water, milk, and vegetables, as well as journalists, health workers, tourists, and passengers with international flight tickets, will be allowed to move with assistance from security personnel.

Movement for essential work, services, and shopping will be allowed under security supervision from 6 AM to 10 AM and from 5 PM to 7 PM.
