Nepali Arrested in Hyderabad for Murdering Pregnant Girlfriend
A Nepali man has been arrested in Hyderabad, India, for allegedly murdering his pregnant girlfriend.
According to India Today, 30-year-old Vijay Toppa, also known as Wilson, is accused of killing 33-year-old Tara Bohora, who was living with him. After the murder, he reportedly stuffed her body into a suitcase and dumped it in a quiet area.
Tara’s body was found inside the luggage on June 4 in the Bachupally area of Hyderabad. Vijay worked as a chef at a local restaurant and had been in a live-in relationship with Tara. Police said they met through Facebook and later fell in love.
Tara was already married and had two children. On April 15, she moved to Hyderabad and started living with Vijay in a rented house in Bowerampet.
Police believe that on May 23, the couple argued after learning Tara was pregnant. During the argument, Vijay allegedly strangled her with a nylon bag strap. A local security guard found the body and informed the police.
Police formed five special teams to investigate. Using CCTV footage and other evidence, Vijay was arrested in Medchal district. He has reportedly confessed to the crime during initial questioning.
