Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli visited the Kirtipur Cricket Ground to inspect the ongoing installation of international-standard parapet seating and floodlights.
After taking office, Prime Minister Oli had made this project one of his first decisions on Shrawan 31 (mid-July 2024), promising to complete the work within 300 days and giving it high priority.
He was accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister and Urban Development Minister Prakashman Singh and the ministry’s secretary Gopal Prasad Sigdel during the visit.
Prime Minister Oli received updates on the construction progress from the project chief Chakravarti Kanth and the contractors involved in the work.
Earlier, on Baisakh 22 (May 4, 2025), PM Oli had called a meeting at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers in Singha Durbar to discuss the project with concerned officials and contractors. He had instructed them to finish the work within the next two months.
Separate contracts for the parapet and floodlight installation were signed with two different companies on Poush 19 and 22 (early January 2025).
